Following a three-year alteration programme, the Dorman Museum re-opened in March 2003. Set in a large building close to the centre of Middlesbrough, the museum houses many wonderful collections of geological, archaeological, ornithological and ethnological artifacts - including local finds, and a vast collection of items from around the world. The museum also displays artifacts such as pottery, coins, costumes and photography collections. At any time, the Dorman Museum is also showing a series of one-off galleries which are often of an educational theme and thus very suited to children.
