The magnificently ornate Leeds Grand Theatre, which stands in the heart of the city, is enjoying a new lease of life following a major refurbishment scheme which is now nearing completion. The theatre, opened in 1878, has a seating capacity of 1,550 and been restored to something like its former glory, making it one of the city's most popular live venues. Today, it provides a home for Opera North and boasts an extensive programme of entertainment including appearances by popular musical stars and famous faces from the small screen.
