Step aboard Yorkshire's Great Little Steam Trains and take an enchanting 8 mile journey of discovery through some spectacular south Pennine scenery, near Huddersfield. Your trip starts at Clayton West Station with its cafe, picnic site and free car parking and takes approximately 20 minutes to reach the terminus at near-by Shelly. Constructed on an old branch line the railway first opened in October 1991 and has quickly developed as a major tourist attraction, staging a catalogue of themed events throughout the year which are bound to appeal to the whole family. Those interested in learning to drive a steam engine are also catered for with footplate experience courses.
